I'm a huge sports fan and I admit that I will watch any kind of sport on television. The Mexican-American descent it's mandatory that you enjoy watching soccer; which I love wholeheartedly. To me, all sports are extra entertaining because I was never able to play them at any point in my life because I'm disabled. I have a huge respect for football players and rugby players and even baseball players for putting their bodies in predicaments that can really be consequential. I figured that sports couldn't get any more barbaric; not counting MMA fighting because that's just AWESOME; until I changed the channel last year and I saw the professional bull riding world championships from Las Vegas. My people are all about rodeo, but our definition rodeo is a couple drunk guys jumping on a wild horse and seeing who can ride for a few seconds in a dirty and dusty little circle surrounded by people who are also wasted. I know about rodeo but until I saw what these guys were doing, I totally changed my opinion and became a fan instantly. Watching 2500 pound bulls that are raised specifically for jumping and bucking be mounted by guys that are nowhere near muscular as your usual football player, and watching them hold on for dear life to see if they can make eight seconds is downright CRAZY. Now, that's the easy part. These guys have to have their bodies catapulted from the bull and make sure the bull does not land on them or step on them or even Gore them. I have a newfound respect for the word athlete after I witnessed a couple of guys get stepped on or have the bull land on their head while they're wearing helmets, be out cold for minutes, and get up, walk out of the arena and ride the next night. The professional bull riding association has been in existence for many years but now that television is what it is and sponsorship is becoming outstanding, the PBR is able to showcase championship races between guys that are going to be household names in the near future. Keep your eye open for names like JB Mauney & Cody Lohstroh because these young men are likable and are carrying their sport forward like Moneymaker and Raymer did for poker six plus years ago.
